PULLMAN, Wash. (March 29, 2026) – Washington State dropped the series rubber game 12-5 to Nevada at Bailey-Brayton Field Sunday afternoon.

WSU (11-15, 5-4 Mountain West) won Friday's opener before the Wolfpack (16-9, 6-3 Mountain West) claimed the last two games to take the series.

The Cougars received three hits from Gavin Roy who also scored twice, Mason Pirello had an RBI-double and run scored while Ollie Obenour drove in two runs and drew three walks.

WSU took a 5-4 lead into the fifth before Nevada scored six in the inning and added two more in the sixth. The Cougars left 16 runners on base including the bases loaded in the first, seventh and ninth innings.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
Washington State used a first-inning long two-run single off the left field wall from Ollie Obenour for a 2-1 Cougar lead. Nevada scored three runs in the third but WSU chipped away with a run in the third and two runs in the fourth after Pirello's RBI-double into the left field corner and he later scored on a wild pitch to give the Cougars a 5-4 lead.

Nevada re-took the lead with six runs on six hits in the fifth and twice in the sixth for a 12-5 advantage.

The Cougars loaded the bases in the seventh inning but Nevada ended the threat with a strikeout.
