GENERAL: Earned three letters in baseball under as a pitcher and infielder… also lettered one year on the basketball team as a guard... also played club volleyball and hockey... SOPHOMORE: Captained his club hockey team and was the starting setter on his volleyball team… started at shortstop on the baseball team that won the Southern Alberta High School Championships… JUNIOR: Starting point guard on basketball team and earned all-conference honors… starting shortstop on baseball team that finished third in Southern Alberta baseball league… was team captain and MVP… played for the Lethbridge Elks in the summer… SENIOR: Team MVP of basketball team… captained the baseball team to Southern Alberta High School championship… hit .550 with 37 runs, four home runs and 16 stolen bases… team MVP… named high school Athlete of the Year and Career Athlete award winner… hit .375 for the Lethbridge Elks in American Legion ball.

FRESHMAN (1997-98): Hit .305 with 41 runs, 29 RBI and 20 stolen bases… started at third base and shortstop... SOPHOMORE (1998-99): Started at shortstop for coach Blair Kubicek… received the Alberta Amateur Baseball Scholarship and Lethbridge Community College scholarship.

Kurtis Paskal… born 03-08-79 at Lethbridge, Alberta… parents Rick and Diane Paskal… has two brothers, Kevin and Craig Paskal… enjoys in-line skating, playing basketball and golf, and skiing… attended the same community college as teammate Les McTavish… played for Team Alberta in 1997… went 2-for-6 with four runs scored against WSU in an exhibition game in 1999 at Bailey Field… was the student body president his senior year of high school… avid hockey fan of the Edmonton Oilers… transferred to WSU in August form Lethbridge Community College/Prarie Baseball Academy… planning to major in sport management at WSU with a minor in advertising.
