Alex DeAngelis is in his first season as the Cougars Volunteer Assistant Coach and second season at WSU after spending last year as an undergraduate manager.

DeAngelis joined Washington State after spending the previous two seasons at Saint Martin’s University (Wash.), coaching the pitchers and helping SMU reach the conference tournament for the first time in program history in 2014. DeAngelis worked with the pitchers and catchers in 2015. He later coached the pitchers at South Eugene High School in Eugene, Ore during the 2010-11 seasons.

DeAngelis played two seasons at George Fox University in 2005-06, helping GFU finished runner-up in the 2005 DIII West Regional.

DeAngelis attended Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Ore., twice earning All-Valley League honors including first-team accolades as a catcher in 2003. He also pitched for the Corvallis American Legion team who finished third in the 2003 American Legion World Series in Bartlesville, Okla.

DeAngelis earned his bachelor’s degree in humanities from Washington State in 2016.
