LAS VEGAS (April 18, 2026) – Washington State dropped a 12-3 contest to UNLV at Earl E. Wilson Stadium Saturday evening.

The Cougars (20-19, 8-6 Mountain West) received two hits from Kyler Northrop while WSU matched a season-high with five stolen bases.

UNLV (23-16, 6-8 Mountain West) used 14 hits and three solo home runs in the early innings to erase an early WSU lead and pulled away late to even the series. The Cougars won Friday's opener 13-2 in eight innings.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
WSU built a 2-0 lead after a Mason Pirello RBI-groundout in the first inning before Cam Macleod singled home Ryan Skjonsby in the second inning.

UNLV used three solo home runs, one in the second and two in the third to take a 3-2 lead. The Rebels pushed their lead to 4-2 after a shallow fly ball was lost in the twilight sky, falling in centerfield to allow the UNLV runner from first come all the way around to score on a ball that would have been the third out.

The Cougars threatened throughout the game, leaving runners on second to end the second and third innings and left runners on the corners to end the fourth. Dustin Robinson worked a leadoff walk in the sixth and later stole second and third but was stranded after a strikeout.

UNLV pulled away in their half of the sixth, using a hit-by-pitch, a walk and three hits to push three runs across for a 7-2 lead. The Rebels added three in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
