In the first, Sinatro led off the game with a ground ball single up the middle, Andres Alvarez followed with a single off the pitcher, both moved up on a passed ball and one batter later Manzardo punched an RBI-single the other way through the left side to make it 1-0 Cougars.

In the seventh, Utah Valley loaded the bases with nobody out and used a pair of RBI-singles and a wild pitch to cut the lead to one. A dropped fly ball allowed the tying run to score and the next hitter pulled a single through the right side for a 14-13 UVU advantage.
