Cougars to Host Boise State Saturday

THIS WEEK: The Washington State Cougars (15-4) resume their season-long four-match homestand Saturday when they host Boise State (6-5) at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
 
ABOUT BOISE STATE: Boise State enters the match with a 6-5 overall record, having lost 5-2 to Air Force last week. The Broncos had their four-match winning streak snapped their last time out, falling 5-2 to Air Force. WSU holds a 16-8 advantage all-time against Boise State.

LAST TIME OUT: Washington State Cougars captured its first Pac-12 win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Oregon. The Cougars captured the opening doubles point then won three of the first four singles matches to complete the victory. With the team outcome in hand, the remaining two matches were stopped.
 
UP NEXT: After Boise State, the Cougars return to Pac-12 play by hosting Arizona State and Arizona State, Friday and Sunday, respectively.

ROAD WARRIORS: Washington State is 19 matches into the season and Wednesday's match at Fresno State marks the 14th match the Cougars have played on the road. With trips to Missoula, Mont., Stanford, Calif., Waco, Texas, West Lafayette, Ind. Spokane, Manhattan, Kan., Lincoln, Neb., Salt Lake City, Boulder, Colo. and Fresno, Calif., WSU returned from Fresno and overall, they have travelled more than 10,432 miles.
 
ITA RANKINGS: Washington State University women's tennis team is ranked No. 33 in the most recent ITA rankings. Earlier this year, WSU has held rankings of 36 (March 12), 28 (March 5), 31 (Feb. 26) and 15 (Feb. 19). The No. 15 ranking was the highest in program history. Additionally, Sophomore Michaela Bayerlova moved to No. 55 in the singles rankings, down from No. 35 three weeks prior. WSU's No. 1 duo of Tiffany Mylonas and Hikaru Sato, was No. 71. in doubles rankings two weeks Ago (March 12).
 
MIKSOVSKA CLIMBING CAREER WINS LIST: Cougar senior Aneta Miksovska enters the week with 94 career victories, tied for fourth place on the all-time wins list with Ksenia Googe. Next up on the list is Miksovska's former teammate, Elizaveta Luzina with 105 victories.

  • WSU freshman are a combined 48-18 (.727) in singles play this season
  • Michaela Bayerlova is WSU's highest-ranking player at No. 51 in the most recent ITA Rankings
  • WSU tennis has had three players ranked this season, Bayerlova, Tiffany Mylonas and Melisa Ates
 
COACH HART: Lisa Hart is in her 16th season as the head coach at Washington State. Hart has accumulated a WSU career record of 217-181 (.545) over her tenure, finishing the 2018 season with a 21-7 record.
