No. 33 Cougars Roll Past Boise State, 4-0

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State's 33rd-ranked tennis ran its winning streak to three with a 4-0 victory over Boise state Saturday morning at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 16-4 on the season, while Boise State falls to 6-6.
The day began with doubles where the Cougars quickly captured two victories for the opening point. Melisa Ates and Yang Lee started things off with a 6-1 win over Vanessa Timm and Frankie Trella at No. 2 followed by Michaela Bayerlova and Aneta Miksovska posting a 6-2 win over Wiktoria Nosek and Emily Strande at No. 3
In singles play, WSU captured the three matches in straight sets to clinch the victory. Bayerlova, ranked No. 51 nationally, was first off with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Lilian Poling at No. 1. Hikaru Sato pushed the lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Wilhelmina Palmer at No. 2 before Savanna Ly-Nguyen sealed the win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Timm at No. 4. With the team outcome decided, the match was stopped.
At No. 3 Tiffany Mylonas was leading Nosek, 6-4, 2-3, while Miksovska and Emily Strande had just started with Strande up an early break 2-0 at No. 5.
The Cougars return to Pac-12 play Friday when they host Arizona State.
