Cougars Advance Four into Championship Matches at UNLV

LAS VEGAS – Washington State tennis advanced four singles players and one doubles team in the championship round following Saturday's play in the 2017 UNLV Fall Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Junior Tiffany Mylonas was a double-winner as she posted a straight-set victory over UNLV's En-Pei Huang in a Flight Two semifinal. Earlier in the day, she teamed with Aneta Miksovska in an 8-3 win over UNLV's Jovana Kenic and Mercedes Lopez in a Flight Two doubles semifinal. Miksovska fell in her singles semifinal to UNLV's Anna Bogoslavet in straight sets, missing the chance for an all-Cougar final in Flight Two.

In Flight One singles, senior Barbora Michalkova secured a break of serve in each set to defeat Northern Arizona's Chiara Tomasetti, 6-4, 7-5, advancing to Sunday's championship match. In the third singles flight, sophomore Melissa Ates had little trouble with UNLV's Juliet Zhang, winning 6-0, 6-1 in her semifinal. Also advancing to the Sunday final was sophomore Ege Tomey, who defeated UNLV's Lopez, 6-3, 6-4 in Flight Four.

In the top-flight doubles, Northern Arizona's Tomasetti and Hanneke Lodewiks defeated Michalkova and Ates in Saturday's second semifinal.
