WSU Tennis Earns Victory Over Kansas

PULLMAN, Wash.- The Cougar women's tennis team won its match against Kansas 4-3 today at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse. The team now improves to 8-1 on the season.
In doubles play, Elisabeth Fournier and Lea Jansen took the No. 3 match against Paulina Los and Erin Wilbert 8-2. At No. 2 Ksenia Googe and Andjela Kankaras beat Sara Lazarevic and Monica Pezzotti 8-3 to win the first point of the match.
In singles action Vasilieva took the No. 2 match from Lazarevic 6-3, 6-2. Googe beat Monica Pezzotti 6-1, 6-2 for the point at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 Fournier outlasted Morozova 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 with a three-set victory to clinch the match for WSU.
The Cougars will be back in action at home Saturday, Feb. 19 when they host No. 38 Boise State at 11 a.m. at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.
