Burduli Leads the Way at Cougar Classic

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State Cougars will be sending three singles players and two doubles teams to the finals Sunday for the Cougar Classic.
For No.1 singles senior Ekaterina Burduli (Tel Aviv, Israel) defeated Gonzaga's Aglaya Kokurina 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the finals. She will face Boise States Bianca Jochimsen in finals.
"Eka our team captain, comes out everyday and takes care of business, " Washington State's Head Coach Lisa Hart said. "The other players on the team really look up to her for that."
The Cougars will also be sending No. 2 singles player Aleksandra Stefanova and No. 3 singles player Marina Nicolas to the finals as well. Nicolas a freshman has only lost 4 games in her three singles matches during the tournament.
Washington State will be sending a team to the finals to both No.1 and No.2 doubles. Burduli and freshman Ekaterina Kamendova will team up to take on Bianca Jochimsen and Laura Baum from Boise State in the finals. In No. 2 doubles Bianca Selaru and Marina Nicolas will face Danielle Farmer and Rika Medndiratta from Gonzaga.
