WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2016-17): Outdoor - Dealing with injury and only threw at four meets all season…top toss of year was 64.71m/212-4 at Trojan Invite (3/18/17, Los Angeles)…at Pac-12 Championships placed 12th (58.52m/192-0)…at NCAA West Region placed 42nd (56.54m/185-6).
SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Outdoor - Best javelin throw of year was 68.11/223-5 at Sun Angel Classic…at Pac-12 Championships captured sixth place with toss of 67.05m/220-0…at NCAA West Prelims threw distance of 65.11m/213-7 for 20th place.
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2014-15): Outdoor - Threw a javelin PR distance of 71.07m/233-2 at Mt. SAC Relays (4/17/15, Walnut)…at Pac-12 Championships threw 62.69m/205-8 for eighth place…threw same distance at the NCAA West Prelims for 26th.
FRESHMAN (2013-14): Outdoor - Redshirt season…threw unattached at Cougar Invitational and tossed javelin a PR distance of 66.64m/218-8 (4/26/14, Pullman).
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned four varsity letters at Mt. Si High in track and field for coaches Dave Ovall, and Jan-Olov Johanson, a former WSU thrower…freshman year set school record for javelin throw at 157-6…as a sophomore threw javelin a school-record distance of 181-11…finished 10th at state 3A Championships…junior year at third meet of season, threw 193-0 and broke his older brother Kyle’s record after Kyle had broken his father’s school-record in 2009…heaved javelin 205-10 to win state 3A title…awarded high school All-American first team…suffered elbow injury at state meet…spent much of senior year rehabbing elbow with best toss of 199-5 but repeated as state 3A javelin champion (198-1)…competed for the O-Zone Track Club and coach Jan-Olov Johanson.
PERSONAL. Born in May 1995, in Bellevue, Washington…father Jim Stevens is a King County paramedic who was a track and field athlete at University of Washington…mother Collette Stone is a sales consultant who played soccer and competed in track and field at Central Washington…older brother Kyle Stevens (WSU 2015) also in WSU javelin all-time top ten…other brothers are Bryce Peterson, Brandon Peterson, Aaron Stone and Quinn Stone…sister Leslie Stevens…enjoys hunting, Olympic lifting, Rubix cube, and juggling…majoring in sports science at WSU.
