WSU CAREER. SENIOR (2018-19): Indoor - Earned two victories during the season in the 60m dash at the New Mexico Team Invite, and at the WSU Cougar Indoor...Competed at the MPSF Indoor Championships in both the 60m (7.55), and the 200m (25.31)...Named to the MPSF All-Academic Scholar team …Outdoor - Totaled four wins throughout the year, three of which, in the 100m dash, and one victory in the 4x100m relay...Saw her best finish in the 100m dash at the Sam Adams Classic with a time of 11.72...Competed at the Pac-12 Championships in the 100m (11.99), and in the 4x100m relay (46.30), where she and her squad totaled 1 point for the Cougars.
WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2017-18): Indoor - Recorded two individual wins in the 60m dash at the Ed Jacoby Invite, and the WSU Open...Competed at the MPSF Championships in the 60m, and posted a time of 7.62 for a 17th overall finish...Named to the MPSF All-Academic Scholar team…Outdoor - Earned three wins throughout the season, two in the 100m dash, and one victory in the 4x100m relay...Saw her best 100m dash time at the WSU-UW Dual at 11.69 overall...Competed at the Pac-12 Championships in both the 100m (11.87), and in the 4x100m relay (46.97)...Named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention team.
WSU CAREER. SOPHOMORE (2016-17): Indoor - Scorched the track with a PR of 7.45i in winning the 60m dash at the New Mexico Team Invite (1/28/17, Albuquerque)…mark is third-fastest in WSU history…at MPSF Championships placed 12th in 200m (24.86i), 18th in 60m (7.55i) and ran second leg of 9th-place 4x400m relay (3:49.65i)…Outdoor - Added a 100m PR time of 11.60, third-best in WSU all-time records, at UCLA Legends (4/1/17, Los Angeles)…at the Pac-12 Championships ran on both relays that placed fifth…finished ninth in the 100m (11.68)…at NCAA West Region finished 31st in 100m (11.50w)…named to Pac-12 T&F All-Academic honorable mention team.
FRESHMAN (2015-16): Indoor - Top season times came at Don Kirby Elite with 7.70i in 60m and 24.98i in 200m (2/13/16, Albuquerque)…at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, 200m time of 24.99i was 22nd and 400m time of 57.25i was 28th…Outdoor - PR times in 100m of 11.71 and 200m of 24.31 came at Sam Adams Classic (4/2/16, Spokane)…at Pac-12 Championships ran 100m in 11.87 for 17th and 200m in 25.18 for 23rd…the 4x100m relay did not finish after a dropped baton stopped the squad with the fourth-best time coming into the championships…4x400m relay’s time of 3:38.17 was fourth…at the NCAA West Prelims, the 4x100m relay placed 19th (45.60) and 4x400m relay was 18th in a time of 3:38.08.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Earned 11 varsity letters at Adna High School…three letters as a forward in soccer for coach Julie Aselton including Central B League MVP as senior…four as a point guard in basketball for coach Chris Bennish…four letters in track as a sprinter for coach Corrigan…at state 2B track and field championships won a total of 10 titles: won 100m four consecutive years, won 200m and 400m state titles sophomore through senior years…junior year named state 2B Track Athlete of the Year…that year ran 100m PR of 12.10 and 400m PR of 56.40 at state finals, and 200m PR of 24.74w at state prelims…member of Evergreen Storm Track Club, at the 2014 Pacific Northwest Association Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships in Women’s 18U Division, won 100m (12.43 prelim/12.50 final), second in 200m (25.42w)…at 2014 USATF Region 13 Junior Olympics meet won 100m (12.13), 200m (24.96), and on winning 4x100m relay (49.32).
PERSONAL: Born in February 1997, in Aberdeen, Washington…father John Gaffney is a sheet metal fabricator…mother Shannon Vestal is a teacher…younger sister Rylee Gaffney…majoring in general sciences at WSU.
