Longisa Makes History at Final Day of Bryan Clay Invitational

Azusa, California – Rosemary Longisa sets a meet record in the 1500 as the Cougs wrap up their final day at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Rozzy made history at the Bryan Clay Invitational, setting the 1500-meter race meet record and winning the Elite division race. Her time was almost four seconds faster than the previous record. Her time was also 10 seconds faster than her previous personal best 1500 time. She finished in 4 minutes and 2.55 seconds, which is now the fastest time in NCAA Division 1.
In the Men's 1500m Invite division, Evans Kurui was the highest finisher for WSU, finishing in 56th with a time of 3 minutes and 44.22 seconds. Ku Stevens set a personal best time in the race, finishing in 3 minutes and 44.55 seconds.
Faith Kipmaiyo ran a personal best in the Women's 1500m Open A race, finishing in 16th with a time of 4 minutes and 27.20 seconds. Maya Nichols was the next fastest finisher for the Cougs, finishing in 29th with a personal best time of 4 minutes and 27.96 seconds. Hailey Cossey, Mercy Biwott, and Aleeya Cossey all set personal bests in the race as well.
