Boenning, Renner Ready for NCAA Corvallis Regional

PULLMAN, Wash. (May 15, 2026) – Washington State senior Sam Renner and freshman Dylan Boenning are set to compete as individual selections at the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Corvallis Regional, May 18-20, in Corvallis, Ore.
Renner, from Bend, Ore., repeats as an NCAA qualifier after participating in the Bremerton, (Wash.) Regional last season while Boenning becomes just the fifth different WSU player to qualify for an NCAA Regional, and first freshman to do so as an individual. Renner and Boenning join a select group of Cougar golfers who have participated in an NCAA Regional, joining Ryan Witz (2006), current WSU Women's Golf Head Coach Kevin Tucker (2009, 2010) and Pono Yanagi (2023).
Renner, who set WSU's single-season scoring average last year at 70.67, is having another tremendous season with a 71.14 season scoring average, second-best in program history. In 29 rounds this season, the senior from Bend, Ore. had registered 11 scores in the 60's and 15 rounds at par or better. He has four Top-10 finishes in his 10 events, including a season-best T-third at the Saint Mary's Invitational and the Desimone Invitational, along with eight Top-25 finishes. Renner also repeated as an All-WCC Men's Golf Team selection.
In his first season in Pullman after arriving from Phoenix, Ariz., Boenning has posted a WSU freshman single-season record 71.76 scoring average through the WCC Championships, the eighth-best overall single-season average in school history. At the WCC Championships, Boenning led WSU by finishing tied for fourth, a season-best, after he went 5-under, 208, with all three rounds at par or better. For the season, Boenning recorded three Top-10 and five Top-25 finishes.
Tournament Information
The 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional, hosted by Oregon State University, will be held May 18-20 at the Trysting Tree Golf Club. The 54-hole event, 18 holes each day, will be held at the Trysting Tree Golf Club. The course is setup as a par-71, measuring at 7,384 yards.
The 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional features 13 teams and 10 individuals hoping to advance to the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships. The top five teams and the top individual not on an advancing team will advance from each regional to the national championship, May 29 – June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Texas is the host institution for the 2026 championships.
Boenning is set to tee off on Hole 1 Monday at 9:20 a.m. while Renner will tee off at 10:04 a.m.

Teams that will be competing at the 2026 NCAA Corvallis Regional, seeded in order, include Arkansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Charlotte, UCLA, Notre Dame, San Diego, Purdue, Georgia Southern, Oregon State, Liberty, Xavier and Sacramento State.
The 10 individuals playing in the NCAA Corvallis Regional, also in seeded order, include Renner, Avinash Iyer (San Jose State), Finn Koelle (Washington), Jacob Goode (Washington), Emil Borrestuem Herstad (Washington), Keshav Mungali (San Jose State), Ivan Barahona (San Jose State), Boenning and Gustav Liljeberg (Oral Roberts).
