On a windy day in the Bay Area, the Cougars jumped out quickly, reaching 4-under as a team through the first four holes. They were up and down through the middle parts of the round before settling down to finish at 1-over, 289, as a team. After posting a 15-under in Monday's second round to move into fourth place, WSU ended the 54-event at 16-under, 848, in seventh place. The nation's ninth-ranked team, Arizona State, ran away with the title, finishing at 39-under, 20 shots ahead of second place TCU (-19), while SMU (-18), California (-18), and Texas (-18) rounded out the top five.

Boenning finished his final round at 4-under, 68, after posting a card that included an eagle, six birdies, four bogeys and seven pars. Boenning was 1-over after eight, but an eagle on the ninth and four birdies sandwiched around a bogey on the back gave him a 54-hole score of 1-under, 215, tied for 33rd overall.
Redshirt-junior Ben Borgida, who entered the round in third place overall at -8, began his day with four pars before running into trouble on the fifth hole. He went nine-over on the next five holes before mounting a strong back nine that saw him collect three birdies and an eagle to finish his day at 4-over, 76.
