PULLMAN, Wash. (May 1, 2026) – Freshman Dylan Boenning finished his first two rounds at 5-under, 137, to lead Washington State during Friday's first day of play at the 2026 West Coast Conference Men's Golf Championships, played on the 6,621-yard, par-71 Green Valley Country Club.
As a team, the Cougars ended the first two rounds at 2-under, 566, with rounds of 3-under, 281, and 1-over, 285, tied for sixth overall with Oregon State. Pepperdine leads the field at 16-under, two strokes ahead of San Diego and five shots in front of Augusta.
Boenning was solid throughout his first two rounds, posting under-par rounds of 69-69 to end Friday at 5-under, 137, tied for fifth overall. In his first round, Boenning was rock solid, collecting three birdies in his first seven holes followed by nine-straight pars. A bogey on his 17th hole was the only blemish in a strong start. His second 18 began with another birdie, after which he added four more to go with two bogeys for a 3-under, 68.
Senior Sam Renner started strong, posting a 3-under, 68, a round that began with bogeys on two of his first five holes. Renner turned thing around quickly as on back-to-back par 5's, he went eagle-birdie and never looked back. Two more birdies on his back nine followed by six pars ended his first 18 holes. He collected four birdies and three bogeys in his second round before a double left him 1-over for the round and 2-under for the day, tied for 13th overall.
Sophomore Garrett Harrison was solid throughout his first two rounds. During his opening 18, Harrison carded four birdies and five bogeys to conclude his opening 18 holes at 1-over, 72. For his second round, he reversed his previous round, adding five birdies and four bogeys for a 1-under, 70. His two-round score of even-par, 142, places him in a tie for 23rd overall.
Starting on Hole 10, redshirt-junior Ben Borgida made the turn at even-par before a bogey to end his round left him at 1-over, 72. His second round contained two birdies and six bogeys to finish at 4-over, 75. Borgida's 36-hole score of 5-over, 147, places him in a tie for 48th overall.
Sophomore Dylan Burcham posted rounds of 73-76 to finish his first day at 7-over, 149. His first 18 holes saw him produce three birdies, three bogeys and a double. Burcham never found rhythm in his second round, managing just two birdies and eight pars as he ended his day 53rd overall.
The third round of the 2026 WCC Championships gets underway Saturday morning with a final 18 holes. The Cougars will tee off beginning at 7:35 a.m.
