Cougars Head to Northern California for WCC Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. (April 30, 2026) – The Washington State men's golf team competes in its final regular-season tournament when it heads to northern California for the 2026 West Coast Conference Championships, May 1-3, in Fairfield, Calif. The tournament will be held at the Green Valley Country Club.
The Course and Tournament Format
The 2026 WCC Championships will be a 54-hole event, followed by a final day of match play for the top four teams, played at the par-71, 6,621-yard Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif.
Teams will play 36 holes Friday, followed by 18 holes Saturday. Sunday morning, the top four teams compete in match play, with the two semifinal winners advancing to Sunday afternoon's final. The Cougars tee off Friday morning on Hole 10 beginning at 7:35. Saturday's tee time will be determined after Friday's first two rounds.

Cougs in the Rankings
Over WSU's last three outings, the Desimone Invitational, The Goodwin and the El Macero Classic, WSU has steadily risen in the collegiate golf rankings, moving from 74 in early March to its current ranking of 63, just shy of its season-high of 60 earlier in April. Additionally, in that same time frame, senior Sam Renner has gone from No. 221 to No. 124.
Last Time Out
In its last outing at the El Macero Classic in northern California, the Cougars finished the 54-hole tournament at 15-over, 879, tied for 4th overall. Leading WSU was freshman Dylan Boenning with a 54-hole score of 1-over, 217, tied for fifth overall. Senior Sam Renner posted a three-round score of 3-over, 219, placing him in a tie for 12th, his third Top-12 finish in as many tournaments.

Head Coach Dustin White is in his 10th season leading his alma mater. The 2025-26 Cougar squad returns five members from last season, including senior Sam Renner, redshirt-junior Ben Borgida, and sophomores Tate Briggeman, Dylan Burcham and Garrett Harrison. Joining the Cougars this season is junior Ben Mulder and freshmen Dylan Boenning and Christian Flick.
