Cougars Head to Bay Area for Desimone Invitational

PULLMAN, Wash. (March 8, 2026) – The Washington State men's golf team returns to competition as it heads to the Bay Area for the Desimone Invitational, hosted by California, March 9-10, played at the Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif. The 15-team field features 10 of the top 50 teams in the country.
The Course and Tournament Format
The Desimone Invitational will be a 54-hole event played at the par-72, 6,915-yard Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, Calif.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, and a final 18 Tuesday. Shotgun start will begin at 8:45 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Field
Along with Washington State and host California, the 15-team field, 10 of which are ranked nationally in the top 50, includes Arizona (#26), Arizona State (#9), Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine (#10), San José State, SMU, Texas (#4), TCU (#39), UCLA (#33), USC (#25), Utah (#24), Wake Forest (#27) and Washington (#32).

LAST TIME OUT
In its last outing, Washington State withstood strong winds in the Palm Springs area to finish tied for eighth in the 24-team Prestige, Feb. 16-18 at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West. The Cougars moved up 10 spots after the first day then played just a few holes in the morning before weather canceled the final round due to winds gusting to 60 miles an hour.

Head Coach Dustin White is in his 10th season leading his alma mater. The 2025-26 Cougar squad returns five members from last season, including senior Sam Renner, redshirt-junior Ben Borgida, and sophomores Tate Briggeman, Dylan Burcham and Garrett Harrison. Joining the Cougars this season is junior Ben Mulder and freshmen Dylan Boenning and Christian Flick.
