SPOKANE, Wash. (March 25, 2026) – Washington State dropped a midweek matchup at Gonzaga 19-8 Wednesday afternoon.

Matt Priest hit a pair of home runs, drove in five runs and finished with three hits while Alexandre Giguere recorded an RBI-double.

Washington State tied the game at six but GU scored four times in the fourth and clinched the game with nine runs in the seventh.

KEY MOMENTS OF THE GAME
Gonzaga struck for four runs in the first inning but the Cougars answered with an Alexandre Giguere RBI-double to left field and Priest' two-run shot to left field in the third inning. In the fourth, Ryan Skjonsby and Giguere each worked walks to start the frame and two batters later Priest hammered a 3-2 pitch deep over the left-centerfield wall for a three-run shot to tie the game at six.

GU retook the lead with four runs in their half of the fourth for a 10-6 lead. WSU made it a two-run game with two runs in the sixth but the Bulldogs erupted for nine runs to clinch things in the seventh.
