Josh Graetz announced Thursday Olivia Battye has been named the Cougars assistant tennis coach. Battye arrives in Pullman having spent last season as an assistant coach at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

"I am excited that Olivia has chosen to join us, and we welcome her to Pullman and the Coug family," said Graetz. "Her positivity, work ethic, shared vision and experience as a college coach and former student-athlete make her an ideal fit for our program. I look forward to watching her positively impact our student-athletes."Â

During her one year at Trinity last season, Battye helped the Tigers to a 21-5 overall record, reaching the Round of 16 at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships. A graduate of Sam Houston State University (Texas) with her B.A. in 2015, Battye went on to earn her M.S. from SHSU in 2017. She was a three-year letterwinner at SHSU, earned the Megan Burnham Endowed Tennis Scholarship and the Jack Williams Scholarship awards, made the SHSU Dean's List, the Southland Conference Academic Honor Roll, and was a team captain.Â
After earning her undergraduate degree, Battye was an assistant women's tennis coach at Sam Houston State and then served as a Political Science Graduate Assistant. She later went on to coach the U-14 Zonals in Arlington, Texas, before moving to San Antonio to oversee the Elite Tennis Program as the Assistant Director of the Anne Marie Tennis Center. She then joined the coaching staff at Saint Mary's Hall before moving to the Atonement Academy.
