SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2025) – Washington State Women's Tennis dominated from start to finish en route to a 6-1 victory over Fresno State Saturday in a neutral-site match at the Ronca Tennis Center. With the win, the Cougars recorded its sixth-straight victory over the Bulldogs and improve to 7-2 on the season.

In doubles action, the Cougars captured wins at No. 1 and 2 to seal the opening point. Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy posted a 6-2 win over Yinglak Jittakoat and Matilde Magrini at No.1, while Elyse Tse and Chisato Kanemaki followed with a 6-3 win over Andjela Lopicic and Klara Vukicevic at No. 2. At No. 3, WSU's Hania Abouelsaad and Martina Markov were leading Paulina Montiel and Eliza Dunbar, 4-2, when play was stopped.

In singles action, the Cougars captured four singles victories in straight sets as Murphy defeated Sofia Pizzoni 6-4, 6-0, while Tse cruised through Lopicic at No. 3, 6-4, 6-2. At No. 4, Abouelsaad had breaks in each set in a 6-3, 6-3 win over Charlotte Gisclon while Markov defeated Dunbar, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6.The final two matches to conclude the day saw Alvarez Sande pull out a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 win over Magrini at No. 1 and at No. 5, the Bulldogs picked up their lone win when Montiel escaped with a 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) victory over Martina Puvill.

The Cougars are next in action Friday when they travel to Seattle to face Washington.
