ROUND ROCK, Texas (Feb. 25, 2024) – Washington State won the 2024 Karbach Round Rock Classic over the weekend at Dell Diamond in Texas.

The Cougars went 2-1 during the tournament, defeating No. 24 Kentucky, 6-4 Friday and Kansas, 5-4 Saturday before dropping the tournament finale to Texas State Sunday evening. Kentucky also went 2-1 on the weekend but WSU won the head-to-head matchup while Kansas and Texas State each went 1-2. It was Washington State's first tournament title since sweeping all four games to win the 2010 Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic hosted by Texas Tech.

Kaden Wickersham were also named to the All-Tournament Team.

Kramer becomes the first Cougar to win tournament MVP honors since Derek Jones at the 2010 Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas. Kramer collected three hits, scored three times and drove in three runs as his biggest hit of the weekend was the go-ahead three-run home run in the eighth inning of Saturday's 5-4 comeback win over Kansas. In Friday's tournament-opening win over No. 24 Kentucky, Kramer singled, walked and scored twice.

Shibley collected three hits and scored twice over the weekend, had a single in Friday's win over No. 24 Kentucky, homered and had two hits in Saturday's win over Kansas and walked twice and scored a run Sunday against Texas State.

Taylor started and earned the win Friday over No. 24 Kentucky after holding the Wildcats to just two hits, one earned run and struck three.

Wickersham earned the win Saturday in the 5-4 comeback win over Kansas. The junior righthander fired three scoreless innings out of the bullpen and closed the game out with a perfect ninth inning, sealing the win with a strikeout.
