Cougars Fall to Denver on Final Day of Road Trip

DENVER (April 5, 2021) – Washington State Women's Tennis dropped its final match of a four-match road trip 4-0 at Denver Monday afternoon.

In doubles play, the Cougars' No. 1 pairing of Melisa Ates and Hikaru Sato opened the day with a win but Denver answered with a win at No. 2 and then notched a close victory at No. 3 to earn the point.

In singles play, Denver posted wins at No. 3 and No. 5 to build a 3-0 advantage. WSU began their comeback by pushing the remaining matches to three sets and held leads in three matches before Denver clinched with a win at No. 6.

The Cougars return to Pullman to host Oregon Sunday and Gonzaga Tuesday, April 13.
