Cougars Sweep Pair of Matches to Improve to 13-2

LINCOLN, Neb. – Washington State tennis picked up a pair of victories Saturday, defeating host Nebraska 4-1 followed by a 7-0 win over Iowa State at the Dillon Tennis Center.
With the wins, the Cougars, ranked No. 31, improved to 13-2 on the season.
The day began with the Cougars taking the doubles point and then three singles matches to defeat Nebraska. In singles play, WSU captured wins at No. 1, 3 and 5 in straight sets to secure the win.
In the evening match, WSU again won the doubles point then swept all six singles matches to close out the 7-0 victory over Iowa State. The cougars only dropped one set against the Cyclones, that coming when No. 1 Michaela Bayerlova rallied after dropping the first set to win in three.
The highlight of the day came when senior Aneta Miksovska moved into a tie for fourth place on WSU's all-time singles wins list with Ksenia Googe at 92 victories.
The Cougars are next in action Friday when they begin Pac-12 play at Utah beginning at 11 a.m. PT.
