Cougars Sweep Past Montana

MISSOULA, Mont. – Washington State tennis improved to 4-0 on the season after sweeping Montana 7-0 in a pair of dual matches Friday at the Peak Tennis Club. The Cougars dropped only one set in their 12 singles matches and went 4-1 in doubles action. WSU captured the opening doubles point in both matches and were never threatened as it opened the season with at least four-straight wins for the fifth-straight year. Highlighting the day was Head Coach Lisa Hart capturing here 250th career coaching win in Friday's first match. Hart made it 251 later in the afternoon, improving her WSU record to 206-177 (.538). Prior to WSU, Hart was 45-36 as head coach at Virginia Tech. Against Montana, seniors Aneta Miksovska and Tiffany Mylonas, along with freshman Hikaru Sato, all went 4-0. The Cougars are next in action Sunday when they face Michigan State in Missoula.

MATCH NOTES
- Washington State improved to 38-4 all-time against Montana, extending the current winning streak against the Griz to 26.
- Senior Aneta Miksovska moved into a tie for sixth place on WSU's all-time singles wins list with 38. Miksovska is tied with former teammate Maria Biryukova, Andjela Kankaras and Erica Perkins.
- Head Coach Lisa Hart won her 250th career match as a head coach, extending that to 251 later in the afternoon. Her victory total, which includes 206 leading WSU, is tops in program history.
- The Cougars has started the season 4-0 for the fifth-straight year.
- WSU is next in action Sunday when they face Michigan State in Missoula. The Cougars are 1-0 all-time against the Spartans.
