Men’s Golf Heads to Eugene for Duck Invitational

The Cougars will face 14 teams at the Eugene Country Club.
THIS WEEK: The Washington State men's golf team will compete at the 28th Annual Duck Invitational, at Eugene, Ore., Monday-Tuesday, March 27-28, at Eugene Country Club.
THE TOURNAMENT: The two-day tournament hosted by Oregon will take place at Eugene Country Club, a 7,020-yard track at a par-71…the first two rounds will be played Monday and the final round will be played Tuesday, with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. each day.
THE FIELD: Joining host-school Oregon and WSU in the 15-team field will be Arizona, Boise State, Denver, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Diego, San Diego State, San Jose State, Seattle, UC Davis, UMKC, Utah, and Wyoming…Oregon (10th) and San Diego State (29th) are currently ranked in the top-30 by Golfweek.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be junior Derek Bayley, senior Nick Mandell, junior Zach Anderson, and sophomores Grant Cole and AJ Armstrong…freshman Nicklaus Chiam will be competing as an individual.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: WSU finished 11th (+2, 290) at the Bandon Dunes Championship, March 12-14, at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort…Bayley tied for 31st after shooting 4-over par though three rounds (220)…Mandell, Armstrong, and Anderson all tied for 45th with a total score of 223 (+7)…Cole finished the tournament at 9-over and tied for 51st (225)…Mogg competed as an individual and tied for 42nd (+6, 222).
COACHING STAFF: The team is led by first-year head coach Dustin White, who was an assistant coach at WSU before accepting the head coach position…White golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003…assistant coach Chris Gilbert joined the WSU coaching staff this season…Gilbert graduated from Kansas in 2013 and turned pro the same year before accepting the assistant coach position.
