MORTIMER'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
GENERAL: Played three sports for the Bombers, football, basketball and baseball…coached by Ben Jacobs in baseball, playing first base…captained all three sports as a senior…also attended Tillamook High in Oregon…SOPHOMORE: Played in the state championship football game against Curtis High…JUNIOR: Earned all-league and all-area honors in basketball, with team finishing seventh in the State tournament…SENIOR (1998-99): Hit .380 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI...named to all-conference, all-area and All-State baseball teams…set team RBI record…Richland High won the State title and was ranked 17th in the nation with a 20-3 record.
MORTIMER'S YAKIMA VALLEY CAREER
FRESHMAN (1999-00): Coached by Bob Garretson in baseball…also played basketball…saw action at both first base and in the outfield…hit .330 and earned all-conference second team honors during baseball season…led NWAAC in home runs.
SOPHOMORE (2000-01): Batted .340 and was named to the all-league first team and to the NWAAC all-star team…YVCC's Male Athlete of the Year.

Steven Andrew Mortimer…born 6-10-81 at St. Maries, Idaho…parents Alan and Crickett Mortimer…three brothers, Marc, Mike and Scot…brothers Mike and Marc both played baseball at Northwest Nazarene College…Mike went on to play in the Texas Ranger organization…enjoys snowboarding, golf and landscaping…Special Olympics volunteer…attended Nazarene Youth Congress…twice helped build churches in Mexico…dean's list honoree at YVC.
