Berkeley, Calif. - Ekaterina Burduli finished her run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Regional after losing to ninth-seeded Christina Visico of California, 7-6, 6-2, at the Hellman Tennis Center.
Burduli, seeded seventh, finished the 128 participant tournament in the round of 16, as she did a year ago. The Tel Aviv, Israel native battled the first set tough as she forced an extra game, but fell in the tiebreaker. She couldn't get back on track as she dropped the second set and the match. Burduli wraps up fall play with a 10-3 record.
In other tennis play, the duo of Aleksandra Cekic and Amy Toth defeated Saint Mary's Stephanie Ordoveza and Erin Young to advance to the doubles consolation semifinal match, after a convincing 8-4 victory. Anastesia Opata dropped her singles consolation quarterfinal match to Luba Schifris of Sacromento State, 6-0, 6-3.
The tournament competition wraps up Monday.
