DAVIS, Calif. (April 13, 2025) – Washington State men's golf shot a final round of 18-over, 306, and finished 13th at the 2025 El Macero Classic Sunday, played at the par 72, 7,127-yard El Macero Country Club.
On a day when no team went under par, UC San Diego tied for the low round at 5-over, 293, giving them a three-round total of 1-over, 864, one shot ahead of runner-up Saint Mary's and two clear of Pacific.
For the third-straight day, junior
Sam Renner led the Cougars as he was steady throughout the 54-hole event. On Sunday, Renner shot a 1-over 73, that included two birdies, three bogeys and 13 pars. Renner finished his event at even-par, 216, tied for sixth overall.
Senior
Franklin Lydra was solid as for the second-straight round he finished with a 3-over, 75. Lydra, who collected two birdies on his round, finished the three-day tournament at 7-over, 223, tied for 31st overall.
Redshirt-sophomore
Ben Borgida closed his tournament with a 7-over, 79, managing just one birdie on the round. Borgida finished at 15-over, 231, tied for 68th. Freshman
Tate Bruggeman matched Brogida's round Sunday, shooting a 79 to close out his first tournament of 2025 at 17-over, 233, in 75th.
Redshirt-senior
Drayton Joseph posted a 9-over, 81, Sunday, finishing his tournament at 21-over, 237, tied for 81st overall. Freshman
Garrett Harrison, playing as an individual, finished his tournament with a 6-over, 78, giving him a three-round total of 17-over, 233, tied for 75th.
The Cougars are next in action at the 2025 West Coast Conference Championships, April 25-27, in Fairfield, Calif.
