Cougars Move Up One Spot to Finish 10th at Saint Mary’s Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2025) – Redshirt-junior Ben Borgida shot a 2-under, 70, to lead Washington State golf on the final day of play at the 2025 Saint Mary's Invitational Wednesday, played on the 7,104-yard, par 72 Bayonet Golf Course.
As a team, the Cougars shot an even-par, 288, Wednesday to move up one spot and finish 10th in the 16-team field with a 54-hole total of 12-over, 876. Arkansas State led wire-to-wire in posting a four-shot victory over Saint Mary's, while Santa Clara was third at 2-under.
Borgida had the round of the day for the Cougars, posting a 2-under, 70, collecting three birdies and a bogey on his first nine, before finishing with nine-straight pars. Borgida finished the tournament at 4-over, 220, tied for 36th.
Senior Sam Renner started strong with back-to-back birdies on his first two holes, but managed just one birdie to go with third bogeys and a double the rest of the way for a final-round of 2-over, 74. Renner finished his 54-hole event with a 4-under, 212, tied for third place.
Freshman Dylan Boenning posted a 1-under, 71, Wednesday, finishing his day with five birdies and four bogeys. Boenning was 2-over after five holes before going 3-under the rest of the way to finish his three-day tournament at even-par, 216, tied for 18th.
Junior Ben Mulder completed his 54-hole event with a 3-over, 75, in his third round. Mulder's round included two birdies, one on each side, to finish the tournament in 80th place at 14-over, 230. Sophomore Dylan Burcham had his best round in Seaside as he fired 1-over, 73, Wednesday, posting two birdies, three bogeys and 13 pars. Burcham's three-day score of 15-over, 231, tied him for 81st.
Freshman Christian Flick, competing as an individual, posted a third-round score of 6-over, 78, giving him a three-round total of 16-over, 232, tied for 83rd.
The Saint Mary's Invitational concludes WSU's 2025 fall schedule.
