Two Cougs in Top-25 after Second Round of Saint Mary's Invite

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -Â The Washington State men's golf team concluded the second round of the 2022 Saint Mary's Invitational with two Cougars inside the top-25 on the player leaderboard.Â
Junior Jaden Cantafio led WSU for the second-straight day, as he finished round two in a tie for 15th. Cantafio carded 3-over; 74 during the second round to put him at 2-over; 144 after 36 holes of play.Â
Senior Pono Yanagi also holds a spot in the top-25 after he shot 1-over; 72 in the second round to sit in a tie for 22nd on the player leaderboard. Yanagi will head into the final round of the Saint Mary's Invite 3-over; 145.Â
Freshman Daniel Kim jumped 37 spots on the player leaderboard during Tuesday's second round, as he finished in a tie for 35th after carding even par; 71 in his second go-around at the Poppy Hills Golf Club. Kim is now 6-over; 148 heading into Wednesday's third round.Â
Junior Preston Bebich collected WSU's second eagle of the tournament, as he carded 2-under on the par-5 4th hole.
The Cougars moved up one place on the team leaderboard and will begin the final round in eighth place after they posted 10-over; 294 during the second round and 19-over; 584 after 36 holes.Â
San Diego sits in first place after two rounds as they carded 6-under; 562 as a team. San Diego's David Rauch and Fresno State's Matthew Manganello are tied for first after they both posted 6-under; 136 through the second round.Â
The final round of the Saint Mary's Invitational will tee off Wednesday at 7:20 a.m. Fans can follow all the action at GolfStat.com.
