KAHUKU, Hawaii - Washington State senior Hank Frame was tied for ninth place at the conclusion of Friday's final round of the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. Frame carded an overall score of 5-over through the tournament's three rounds. The Cougar men placed seventh in the 16-team field, climbing two spots on the leaderboard in the last round.

Frame had marks of 74, 73, and 74 in the three respective rounds of the tournament in Hawaii. This marks the fifth top-10 finish for the Cougar senior in the six tournaments this year.

"That was another great job by Hank Frame," Cougar Head Coach Garrett Clegg said. "He had another top 10 finish in another great field, and is doing a really good job of being a senior leader on the team."

The WSU men's team shot 14-over par collectively in the final round of 18 holes. That brought their tournament score to 903 (+39). California comfortably maintained its lead and concluded the tournament as the only team under par (-14). New Mexico was runner-up at 13-over. The tournament was championed individually by Joel Stalter of California.

"Overall the tournament was kind of mediocre," Clegg said. "We had a really bad first day, a solid second day and today was not that great overall. We are learning a lot as a team and we are still learning how to compete with the best teams. We have a ways to go, and we know it. Overall it was okay."

Redshirt sophomore Alex Wagner was the next best finisher for the Cougars behind teammate Frame. Wagner tied for 37th place overall with a final tournament score of 12-over.

The Cougars will follow up their seventh-place finish in Hawaii by hosting the fourth annual Snowman Getaway in Goodyear, Ariz., February 25-26.
