WSU Tennis Cruises Past New Mexico

Lewiston, Idaho-- The No. 43 WSU women's tennis team won its fourth consecutive match with a 5-2 victory over No. 65 New Mexico Saturday.
WSU (4-1) earned the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. At No. 1 singles, Washington State's 45th ranked Lorena Arias and Chris Martinez beat Meja Kovacek and Tjasa Suvak, 9-7. Zorana Roganovic and Orsolya Sallai knocked off Maria Ruiz-Fabrega and Rachel Hatley, 8-6, at No. 2 doubles. Cougars Nora Gaal and Zsofi Fodor took care of business at No. 3 doubles with an 8-5 victory over Tiffany Robertson and Michelle Heidbrink.
Four Cougars won their respective singles matches to give WSU the victory. At No. 3 singles, Martinez beat Heidbrink 6-1, 6-0.
The Cougars will play No. 57 Boise State (6-0) Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
