WICHITA, Kan. --- Sophomore Dustin White led Washington State with a 69 in the first round of the Diet Pepsi/Shocker Classic, being played at the par 71 Crestview Country Club.
The Cougars are tied for seventh overall after shooting a 290 on Monday. Oral Roberts has a two-stroke lead over host Wichita State at the top of the team leader board.
White, a sophomore from Pueblo West, Colo., is two strokes off the lead and tied for seventh. Junior Jeremy Taylor ended a mini-slump by carding an even 71, while freshman Ryan Camp shot a 74.
Oral Roberts' Charleton Dechert and Drake's Neil Johnson fired 67s and are tied for first heading into the final two rounds on Tuesday. The second round was suspended due to thunderstorms in the area.
Play will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
