Three Washington State golfers finished in the top thirty
individually to lead the Cougars to an eighth place team finish at the Rocky
Mountain Men's Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Wyoming at the
Jacoby Golf Club in Laramie, Wyoming.
Sophomore Jon Reehorn (72-67-74--213) carded a career-best, three-under-par 67 in the second round en route to a three round total of 213. His 12th place finish paced the Cougar men. Seniors Eric Toomey (75-71-71) and Jeff Gustafson (69-76-72) tied for 29th place with a three round score of 217.
The tournament host Wyoming captured the team title, finishing
three-under-par with a three round total of 837. Western Kentucky (839) held
off Campbell University (844) for second place.
The Cowboys grabbed two of the top three individual spots with David Hearn
(68-65-71--204) placing first and Kevin Kayden (70-67-69--209) tying
Arkansas-Little Rock's Daniel Fox (70-67-69--206) for second place.
UP NEXT: The Cougars will compete in the 11- team Nebraska Fairway Club
Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska Sept. 13-14 in Lincoln, Neb.
