Biography

WSU CAREER: In the fall as a SOPHOMORE (2018-19), teamed up with Kateryna Maistrenko to finish seventh at the Burnaby Lake Small Boat Invitational… raced with the varsity eight throughout the season...part of the varsity eight crew that defeated Gonzaga to retain the Fawley Cup for the third-straight year…as a FRESHMAN (2017-18), opened the spring season with the varsity four, winning their preliminary heat of the San Diego Crew Classic, advancing them to the A Final where they placed fourth ahead of UCLA and USC respectively…helped the Cougar’s ninth-straight win against Oregon State for the Winchell Cup by taking first place out of the varsity four boats…at the Clemson Invitational, the varsity four raced the same teams as the varsity eight and second varsity eight placing third advancing them to the finals where they took second, helping WSU finish sixth overall…took first place at its race against Gonzaga for the Fawley Cup…rowed with the second varsity eight in the Pac-12 Championships and took fifth…to finish the season the second varsity eight competed at the NCAA Championships and secured fourth place.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Claremont Secondary School…won the Royal Canadian Henley in the quadruple sculls in the U17 division…represented British Columbia in the Western Canada Summer Games as a sophomore…represented Canada at the CanAmMex games.
 
PERSONAL: Born Emma Gribbon, June of 1999 at Victoria, British Columbia…father Barry and mother Sandy…enjoys rowing, dog-walking, and hiking.
