Cougars Conclude Racing in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 29, 2026) – Washington State women's rowing concluded their racing weekend with fifth-places all around in Sunday's Grand Finals, wrapping up competition at the San Diego Crew Classic.
"It's great having a couple races under our belts," said Head Coach Jane LaRiviere. "Overall, we executed the race plan more effectively today, and we have lots of good stuff to work on moving forward. Go Cougs!"
The Cougs opened the morning with their 1V8 shell placing fifth in the Champ Women's Collegiate 8+ in a time of 7:08.75. They finished right behind fourth-place UCLA (7:02.48), while No. 2 Texas placed first (6:32.28), No. 5 Washington second (6:39.13) and No. 10 California came in third (6:49.88).
WSU had a similar finish in the Women's Collegiate V 4+ with the team's 1V8 placing fifth in 8:26.61 behind UCLA's 8:03.05 fourth place finish. Texas (7:41.16), Washington (7:42.94) and California (7:51.16) finished 1-2-3 in the V 4+ run as well.
The day concluded for the Cougars finishing fifth in the Women's Collegiate 2V 8+ with 7:34.58 ahead of San Diego's 7:40.17, and behind Texas in first (6:50.11), Washington in second (6:51.86), California in third (7:07.67) and UCLA in fourth (7:20.51).
