1V4, 2V4 Show Improvement in Final Day of Big Ten Invite

GOLD RIVER, Calif. (April 19, 2026) – Washington State women's rowing concluded racing at the Big Ten Invite Sunday morning,
"The Cougs fought the whole way down the course today," said Head Coach Jane LaRiviere. "Kudos to the 1V4 and 2V4 for turning around last week's results."
The Cougars opened the day with 4+ racing, seeing both the 1V4 (7:43.41) and 2V4 (7:51.32) place fourth, each showing improvement over their performances from the previous weekend.
WSU also placed fourth in a tight 2V8 racing, crossing in 6:46.52 ahead of Gonzaga (6:48.36), and behind first-place Southern California (6:39.91), second-place No. 20 UCLA (6:42.19) and third-place Minnesota (6:45.48).
The day ended with the 1V8, in which the Cougs finished fifth in a time of 6:50.07, just behind fourth-place Gonzaga (6:47.63).
Up Next
The Cougs will have a weekend off from opposing competition before heading to Dexter Lake to take on Oregon State in a dual regatta and battle for the Winchell Cup on May 2.
