 PRE-WSU CAREER: Attended El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., where he threw for coach Darryl Guerrin...named team captain both years...runner-up in shot put at both 2008 and 2009 junior college state meet...won the South Coast Conference shot put title...second-best shot put distance all-time at El Camino College of 57-2 1/4 (17.43m)...fifth-best discus mark all-time at El Camino of 158-5 (48.30m)...All American in shot put.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned seven varsity letters at Redondo Union High...one each for football, basketball and wrestling...Ocean League heavyweight champion in wrestling as a freshman...offensive line starter in football...in basketball, California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Div. I-A and state playoff runners-up senior year...four letters earned in track and field for coach Christine Williams...earned a spot as a varsity thrower as a freshman...as a senior, heaved the shot put a record 56-1...won the Bay League title after second place as junior...runner-up in shot put at the CIF Div. II Championships...named track team captain and MVP senior season.
