Biography
SENIOR (2019-20) – Named one of the Cougs’ two captains heading into his final season at WSU…played 30 games and started 29 while missing the final two games of the regular season due to injury…scored in double-figures 12 times and led the team in scoring once…scored a career-best 20 points on the road at UCLA (Feb. 13) including hitting a career-best four three-pointers on five attempts…finished the season 14-of-54 (25.9%) from deep, after entering the year with three career three-pointers…had an effective field goal percentage of 55.4, the second-highest mark on the team…named to the inaugural Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll while completing his MBA.
JUNIOR (2018-19) – Started 23 of 29 games played for the Cougars…averaged 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds…made first career 3-pointer against New Mexico State in the Las Vegas Classic, Dec. 23…had first double-figure scoring game of the season with a then-season-high 12 points, Jan. 10 at Colorado...made a career-high 6 free throws in that game, on 6 attempts…missed three games due to injury toward the end of the season…had a season high 13 points including his second career 3-pointer against Oregon State (March 9)...added one more 3-pointer in the Pac-12 Tournament against Oregon, going 1-for-2 from beyond the arc in the season finale.
SOPHOMORE (2017-18) – Appeared in 27 games for the Cougars, including four starts…missed the first three games due to injury…in his second game of the season, scored a then-career-high 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field against No. 21 Saint Mary’s (Nov. 24) in the second game of the Wooden Legacy…followed that up two days later with a career-high 16 points against San Diego State (Nov. 26) in the championship game of the tournament…was 6-for-8 from the field in the championship-clinching win…scored in double-figures twice more during the season with 12 points against IUPUI (Dec. 16) and 12 points in WSU’s Pac-12 opener and his first start of the season at UCLA (Dec. 29)…had a career-high 3 assists one game prior, against Bethune-Cookman (Dec. 22)…beginning Jan. 31 against Arizona, scored in four-straight games with 4 also against Arizona State (Feb. 4) and at Oregon State (Feb. 8) and 2 at Oregon (Feb. 11).
FRESHMAN (2016-17) – Appeared in 24 games for the Cougars, including one start…averaged 8.5 minutes, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 points per game…had breakout game at Arizona State (Jan. 29), scoring a career-high 7 points on a Pac-12 high 17 minutes played…he added a career-high 6 rebounds against the Sun Devils…tallied 1 block twice, against Loyola (Nov. 21) and at Stanford (Jan. 12)…came away with 1 steal five times, against Creighton (Nov. 18), versus Loyola (Nov. 21), at Arizona State (Jan. 29), and at home against UCLA (Feb. 1) and USC (Feb. 4).
HIGH SCHOOL – Earned three letters in basketball at Bountiful High School where he graduated in 2015…attended Impact Academy at Las Vegas, Nev., for the 2015-16 season…at BHS led team to back-to-back State championships as a JUNIOR (2013-14) and SENIOR (2014-15)…led the Braves with 22 points and 5 steals in the 66-54 victory over Kearns HS in the title game his senior year as he averaged 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds a game during the season…Bountiful HS posted a 22-6 mark in 2014-15…as a junior, averaged 9.5 points and 7.6 rebounds (fourth-best in division 4A)…a two-time Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune 4A All-State honoree, earning first team accolades as a senior and third team and honorable mention, respectively, as a junior…was also named to the 4A State All-Tournament team as a senior and to the Coaches’ 4A All-State First Team…was a region 6 honorable mention as a SOPHOMORE in 2012-13.
PERSONAL – Born Jeffrey Thomas Pollard, November of 1996 at Topeka, Kan...father Neal played basketball at San Diego State…mother Greta is a sixth grade teacher…older brother, Nate, plays basketball at Chaminade…has younger brother and younger sister…enjoys singing, dancing and watching Broadway musicals…graduated in three years with a degree in business...earned an MBA in his fourth year.
