Biography

WSU CAREER: Spent time with the third varsity eight and second varsity four as a SENIOR (2018-19)…helped lead the WSU second varsity four to a victory at the San Diego Crew Classic…was a part of the third varsity eight that finished fifth at the Pac-12 Championships…named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention…as a REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2017-18), opened the spring season with the varsity four, winning their preliminary heat at the San Diego Crew Classic, advancing them to the A Final where they placed fourth ahead of UCLA and USC respectively…helped the Cougar’s ninth-straight win against Oregon State for the Winchell Cup by rowing with the third varsity eight…placed a close second with the third varsity eight at the Clemson Invitational behind Ohio State in the ‘A’ Final…raced against Gonzaga at the Fawley Cup securing a first place win for its heat…rowed with the third varsity eight at the Pac-12 Championships and finished fourth helping the Cougars to capture fifth place overall…as a JUNIOR (2016-17), did not compete.

PRIOR TO WSU: Rowed for two seasons at Saint Mary’s as a starboard…as a SOPHOMORE (2015-16), rowed in second varsity eight that placed first at the Covered Bridge Regatta…rowed with the varsity eight the remainder of the season including at the WCC Championship and Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championships…earned WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention…as a FRESHMAN (2014-15), joined the team January, 2015 in time for spring competition…raced with varsity four to start her collegiate rowing career…placed third at the Sacramento Invitational…rowed with the varsity eight and placed fourth at the WCC Championship and third at WIRA Championships…at the WCC Championship, missed breaking the school’s varsity eight all-time record by one second…won the program’s Newcomer of the Year award.

HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in softball for four years at St. Joseph’s Academy at St. Louis…was the team’s captain as a senior…also was a starting pitcher and member of the North Carolina Lady Lightening, that placed ninth at Premiere Girls Fastpitch National Championships…as a junior, led high school team to quarterfinal and district championship wins…played for the 16U Chaos that placed third at the Colorado Sparkler Long Peak Tournament…as a sophomore, was named an all-district pitcher, all-conference second team, and the team won its quarterfinal and district championships…as a freshman, also led team to quarterfinal and district championships…placed fourth at the state competition…rowed with the New York Athletic Club during summer of 2016 for coach Tom Dougherty…placed second at Club Nationals in the intermediate women’s coxed four with a time of 7:24.9…raced at the Canadian Henley and earned a third-place finish in the U23 women’s uncoxed four, with a time of 7:27.1.

PERSONAL: Born Emily Weible, December of 1995 at St. Louis…father Eric is an accountant and mother Robyn…brother Brian…sister Cynthia…enjoys running, hiking and reading…majoring in kinesiology.
