HIGH SCHOOL CAREER Earned six letters at West Valley High...played three seasons as offensive lineman, linebacker and running back for football coach Bob Altshuler...thrower for track and field coach and former Cougar track letterwinner Jamie Nordstrom...on football field, Rams won Columbia Basin League title and advanced to second round of state playoffs sophomore year...junior year named first-team all-league at offensive guard...senior year named honorable mention running back as football team advance to third round of state playoffs...during sophomore track season competed at regionals in shot put and finished fifth in discus...junior year at regionals placed second in discus and fourth in shot...as a senior threw discus for fifth in regionals and finished third in the state 3A meet and ran on 4x100m relay...also took eighth place in shot put at state championships...threw all-time Yakima Valley discus record of 177-5, breaking record set in 1972.
