Biography

SENIOR (2020-21) – Named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District 19 Second Team as well as All-Pac-12 Second Team ... finished his season as the Cougs' top-scorer and ranked fourth in the Pac-12 after posting 17.7 points per game including averaging 23.2 ppg against the top-3 teams in the conference standings ... finished off his season with a 19-point performance against Arizona State in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament ... started the year with a season-best 28 points against Texas Southern ... recorded 18 double-digit performances including nine 20+ point games ... In addition to his own scoring, Bonton finished the season fourth in the conference in assists at 4.0 per game ... finished as the conference's best perimeter defender nabbing an impressive 2.0 steals per game, a mark which ranked 41st in the country.

JUNIOR (2019-20) – Played in 28 games with 27 starts while missing four games due to injury…led the team in scoring 11 times while producing 25 double-digit scoring contests including the final 18 games he played on the year…finished the season averaging 15.3 points per game, second on the team and 11th in the Pac-12…led the team in assists at 4.0 per game, ninth in the Pac-12…tied for the team high with a 34-point game, leading the Cougs to a win over Oregon State (Jan. 18) in front of Klay Thompson…with 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists against the Beavers he became the first Pac-12 player to go 30-8-8 since 1997 when STATS began its database…was the Cougs' best at the line at 83.3% (90-108) including hitting 53 of his last 57…at one point made 20-straight from the line, including 14-of-14 against Oregon State, the 12th longest streak in WSU history…in Pac-12 play, set a program record for free throw excellence at 88.6% (62-70) breaking David Sanders’ 1988 record of 88.3% (53-60).

PRIOR TO WSU – Played his SOPHOMORE season at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming in 2018-19, where he started all 31 games and averaged a team-best 21.4 points and 5.6 assists per game while adding 1.8 steals and 5.5 rebounds per game…was named an NJCAA Second Team All-American while helping lead the Thunderbirds to a 32-3 overall mark en route to the Region IX Championship…Casper fell to Cleveland State CC in the NJCAA National Tournament...started his collegiate career as a FRESHMAN at Montana State…played 11 games for the Bobcats in 2017-18 before transferring in December of 2017…averaged 7.8 points and 1.4 assists per game. 

HIGH SCHOOL – Started his high school career at Columbia Christian in Portland, Ore., where he earned first team all-State honors as a freshman before transferring to Parkrose High School for his final three years…after transferring to Parkrose, was named all-State as a sophomore and junior before missing time as a senior due to an injury.
