WSU CAREER. JUNIOR (2006-07): Indoor - Opened season with leap at 1.65m/5-5i at WSU Open...competed two more weekends and then injury stopped her for rest of season...Outdoor - Cleared 1.70m/5-7 twice in season - at Trojan Invite and at Pac-10 Championships to tie for eighth...named to Pac-10 All-Academic first team...selected to ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII first team.

SOPHOMORE (2005-06): Indoor - Cleared PR in high jump of 1.70m/5-7 at Husky Classic (2/11/06, Seattle)...tied for 11th at the MPSF Championships...Outdoor - Soared to PR of 1.75m/5-8 3/4 for sixth place finish at Pac-10 Championships (5/14/06, Eugene)...at NCAA West Regionals, cleared 1.71m/5-7 1/4 and was tied for fourth but jump-off dropped to sixth place (5/27/06, Provo)...did not clear opening height of 1.70m/5-7 at NCAA Championships (6/7/06, Sacramento)...named to Pac-10 T&F All-Academic first team...named to 2006 Div. I USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team.

FRESHMAN (2004-05): Indoor - Best clearance of season was 1.66m/5-5 1/4i at Idaho Last Chance meet (3/5/05, Moscow)...finished tied for 12th (1.61m/5-3 1/4i) at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships (2/26/05, Seattle)...Outdoor - High jumped 1.70m/5-7 four times including for sixth place at Pac-10 Championships (5/14/05, Los Angeles).

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned seven letters at Forks High...two each in track and cross country for coaches Ashley Watson and Andrea Peppers...two in as guard on coach Todd Fraker's basketball squad and one in softball for coach Bob Wheeler...as a senior, set 2A state high jump record (5-7) to win state championship...finished third at state in heptathlon and fourth in 800m...was third in league in cross country and earned all-league academic honors...named basketball co-MVP and named all-league second team...finished third at state in high jump and seventh in 800m as a junior...finished third in league in cross country...earned all-league academic honors in basketball and cross country...sophomore year, earned all-league academic honors as Spartans starting shortstop on fastpitch softball team.

McKinnon Heather Hanson was born 12/25/86 at Port Angeles, Wash...father Frank is school superintendent and played football at Whitman College...mother Cyd is an artist...enjoys sports, animals, nature and fireworks...WSU family grads include grandfather Franklin "Pete" Hanson, aunt and uncle Hugh and Kathy McEachen, and aunt Dr. Karen Hanson...FHS salutatorian (3.9 GPA) and Honor Society president...FCCLA national gold medalist and chapter treasurer...served on High Tech High taskforce and as Scholarship Auction student director...majoring philosophy with a goal of law school.
