PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State Tennis Head Coach
Lisa Hart announced Tuesday that Maddie Egan will join the Cougar Tennis program in time for the 2019-20 academic year.

"We are thrilled that Maddie has chosen WSU," said Hart. "She is an outstanding multi-sport athlete and I have no doubt Maddie will thrive when she is immersed into collegiate tennis. Her team-first mentality, work ethic, and drive will be a contagious force on our team. Â We are excited for Maddie to get on campus!"

Egan, a native of Puyallup, Wash., was named the Washington State Tennis Player of the Year by the Tacoma Athletic Commission in 2018. She currently ranks No. 10 in the USTA Pacific Northwest in her age division. Egan has earned 12 varsity letters at Rogers High School in Puyallup, Wash. participating in tennis, cross country and basketball, while maintaining a 3.84 grade point average.
