The two day tournament will take place at the Desert Mountain’s Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Arizona.
THIS WEEK:Â The Washington State University men's golf team is heading to Scottsdale, Arizona to participate in the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, beginning Saturday, March 3 and continuing into Sunday.
THE TOURNAMENT:Â The tournament is hosted by the University of Michigan, and will be held at the Desert Mountain's Outlaw Course. Teams will play 54 holes over the two days, consisting of 36 on the first day and 18 on the second. The course is a par 72, and 7,107 yards.
THE FIELD:Â Joining Washington State and host-school Michigan will be Fresno State, Kansas, Lipscomb, Miami (Ohio), Nebraska, Oregon State, Purdue, Saint Mary's, San Diego, and Utah.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be seniors Derek Bayley, Zach Anderson and Brian Mogg, junior AJ Armstrong, and sophomore Daniel Kolar.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: The Cougars claimed 8th place in the Southwestern Intercollegiate on February 27, finishing with a 903(+39). The team sat in third place following the second round after scoring a 299 (+11), to bring the teams two round score to 597(+21). Junior AJ Armstrong tied for 27th place after shooting an 80 (+8) in the final round. Senior Brian Mogg finished tied for 30th with a three round score of 226 (+10).
COACHING STAFF: The men's golf team is led by second-year head coach Dustin White, a WSU alum who golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003.
