Jessica Schmick currently serves as Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics at Washington State University, where she provides high-level operational, logistical, and strategic support to departmental leadership while working closely with campus executives and external partners.
In her role, Schmick manages complex and dynamic executive calendars, coordinates leadership travel, plans high-profile meetings, and executes large-scale and VIP events, including hospitality operations for home and away football games. She is trusted with handling confidential communications and sensitive information and actively contributes to leadership-level planning, decision-making, and special projects, including presidential partnership events.
Schmick brings a strong background in communications and public affairs, having previously served as a Public Affairs Specialist and Web Communications Coordinator for Business Oregon, where she led agency web operations, coordinated cross-departmental communications, and managed content teams across the state. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade with Washington State University Athletics as an Athletic Communications Coordinator, serving as the primary media relations contact for Division I programs, including men’s basketball, and overseeing digital, social, and media communications.
A native of Prosser, Wash., Schmick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Public Relations) with a minor in Sport Management from Washington State University.
