WSU CAREER:
SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Indoor - Hit a six-second PR in the mile (4:47.06) at the UW Invite (1/28) to place 16th overall... Finished 35th in the mile at the Husky Classic (2/11) while setting another PR at 4:45.43... She also PR'd in the 3000m run at the 2022 Husky Classic (2/11) in 9:31.47.... Capped off her indoor season with a 12th-place finish in the mile with a time of 4:45.47, just a fraction off of her lifetime best, at the Pac-12 Invitational. Outdoor - Began her outdoor season with a fourth-place finish in the 800m at the Baldy Castillo Invitational (4/13) with a 2:08.49 and followed up the following week with a PR (2:07.24) and first-place finish in the 800m at the Hayward Premier.
FRESHMAN (2020-21): Indoor - Competed in three total meets during her debut indoor season with the Cougars...Posted personal bests in both the mile and the 3000-meter during the year...Kimtai ran a 4:53.95 in the mile at the UW Preview, and in the 3000m ran a 9:46.32 while at the UW Invite...Outdoor - Started her outdoor career at WSU impressively with a third place finish in the 5000-meter with a time of 16:31.13 at the Hayward Premiere...Recorded a personal best in the 800-meter at the UW v. WSU Dual with a time of 2:08.09 and would go on to finish third overall...Took home a first place finish in the 1500-meter at the Oregon Relays with a time of 4:25.41 overall...Competed a the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships in multiple events as Neema ran in both the 800m and the 1500m...She posted an 11th place finish in the 1500m at 4:23.12 in the finals, and would qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary Round...During the West Prelims from College Station, Texas, Kimtai finished 26th overall in the 1500m with a time of 4:24.81...Currently holds the Washington State Track & Field Freshman record in the 1500m (4:20.69) and in the 5000m (16:31.13)...Ranks seventh all-time in WSU history in the 1500m, and ranks ninth overall all-time in WSU history in the 5000m.
