Kurui and Cheptoo Head East to Battle for Boston

BOSTON, Mass. — Evans Kurui and Zenah Cheptoo head to the East Coast for the Battle of Boston this Sunday. Evans will compete in the 5k at 5 pm PT to try to improve his time to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Zenah will do the same, but in the 3k that will begin at 5:20 pm PT. Both athletes will compete in an impressive field of athletes, all looking to improve their times.

Last Time Out – Husky Classic (Feb. 13-14, 2026)
Washington State rewrote its record book on day two of the Husky Classic as Zenah Cheptoo (15:17.8 in the 5000m) and Rosemary Longisa (1:59.71 in the 800m) each set school records, while Ku Stevens clocked a 3:59.38 mile to rank ninth in program history. Cheptoo now sits fourth in the West Region and 18th nationally. Longisa leads the West and ranks third in the nation, and 13 Cougs tallied personal bests in an impressive overall showing.
