Kurui and Cheptoo Finish Strong in Competitive Battle For Boston

Boston, Mass. – Evans Kurui and Zenah Cheptoo put up competitive times in a field of the country's top runners. Evans Kurui finished second with a 5k time of 13 minutes and 27.21 seconds, good for second place. His time was just 3 seconds behind the time he set earlier this season in Boston. He currently ranks 20th in the nation in the 5k and will look to improve next weekend. Zenah Cheptoo also fought til the very end, finishing her 3k in 8 minutes and 57.75 seconds. Her time was only 4 seconds off her personal best time. Cheptoo currently ranks 27th in the nation in the 3k and will also look to improve her time at the MPSF Championships.
The Cougs will finish up their indoor regular season with the MPSF Championships in Reno, Nevada, next Sunday and Monday.
